This is the launch of a new blog series called ‘Meet the Team!’ Here we introduce you, our Laid Back Snacks community, to the amazing people working hard to fill our snack promise of creating the best healthy and delicious snacks for delivery every day. This series celebrates the wonderful contributions our team members make. Everything we do is made possible by their talent and commitment. Enjoy!

Who better to kick off this series with than the person who packs and ships all the snacks directly from our kitchen over to your door? It’s our pleasure to introduce you to Leesh Mendoza, our lovely Operations Assistant, here today answering a few questions.

How long have you been working at Laid Back Snacks?

Leesh: I have been working with LBS for 1.5 years. Woo. Time flew by 😉

Out of the 31 snacks in our shop currently, what’s your favourite snack and why?

Leesh: My favourite snack is Aloha Kauai. No surprise there since Hawaii is my favourite place in the world and I can’t wait to go back there! All the Aloha Kauai ingredients are perfect together. I get reminded of all the best Hawaiian memories right away. My taste buds have a party and please don’t ask me to share because I’ve probably eaten the entire bag before you even get to ask.

What does your day-to-day look like and what’s the favourite part of your job?

Leesh: My day-to-day consists of working from 7 am-2:30 pm during the week, as well as going home and enjoying free time with family or working on my art. My favourite part of the job is helping the production team with many little tasks involved in creating the snacks from start to finish, and shipping out the snacks for our customers to enjoy.

In your spare time, what’s your favourite thing to do?

Leesh: If I’m not spending time with family and friends, I enjoy playing the piano and electric guitar, cooking, reading and going for walks and runs with my dogs!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Leesh: If I could eat sinigang for the rest of my life, I would be the happiest girl in the world (Sinigang is a Filipino stew made up of fresh vegetables and a tamarind base).

What are you currently watching (movies/tv-shows), and any recommendations?

Leesh: I’m honestly rewatching “Friends” on Crave TV. I know it’s an old series but it’s the funniest show ever, and the humour is so consistent in every episode! I strongly recommend it if you haven’t seen it.

We heard you have a super cute dog! What’s his/her name? And share the picture, please!

Leesh: Ohhhh yes I do! I’ve got 3 cute dogs actually, but the king of our household is Donut. He is my 17-year-old Pomeranian/Shih Tzu mix. My family and I got him as a puppy, and we all grew up with him. He’s the best, and he’s still so energetic and high-spirited. He’s my best friend, but my mom says he’s part of the family so I should say he’s my “other brother” hahaha oh mother!!!

The other 2 boys are his brothers, Danger the Corgi and Drago the Dachshund. But because Danger and Drago are both of the long and short-legged breeds… we call them Drago the hotdog and Danger the hotdog bun  (also cause Drago is brown and Danger is white like the bun lol).
